Products: Donaldsonville Nitrogen Complex
- Anhydrous Ammonia, a gas at ambient temperatures that contains the highest nitrogen content (82 percent) of any nitrogen product. As a fertilizer, Anhydrous ammonia is applied by injecting into the subsoil. It is also the basic nitrogen fertilizer used to produce upgraded products such as urea and UAN solution. The product also has many industrial uses, including for environmental control.
- Urea, a granular product with a 46 percent nitrogen content that, in its liquid form, can be upgraded into UAN solution. As a fertilizer, granular urea is applied using conventional spreader technology. It also has industrial uses for emissions control.
- UAN Solution, a liquid product, generally contains from 28 percent to 32 percent nitrogen. UAN fertilizer is applied via spraying, often mixed with herbicides and pesticides to reduce application costs.
